EXPERIENCED TEACHING STAFF

All academic staff at Ozford have many years of teaching experience both locally and overseas. At all times they support the students’ learning process. Teachers/Trainers always make sure that they use up-to-date and innovative teaching methods in the classroom.

 

ACADEMIC FOCUS

Ozford is committed to the achievement of excellence in education. We emphasise the academic support of each student. We ensure that our students are prepared to enter higher education institutions and workplaces. Students are taught to a high standard and assessed accurately.

 

STRONG WELFARE SUPPORT

Our dedicated Welfare Officers provide support to students in many areas, including counselling them through personal problems, academic stress and offering assistance with health issues. Students are encouraged to approach the Welfare Officers with any problems they are experiencing and can be confident of a compassionate response.

 

CITY LOCATION

Ozford is in the Central Business District of Melbourne, with easy access  to public transport, the State Library, parks and tourist attractions. We are also conveniently close to universities, health services and some of the best shopping malls in Melbourne.

MODERN FACILITIES

Students have access to excellent facilities like modern classrooms featuring the latest fittings and furnishings, including TVs, DVD players and data projectors. Our Lonsdale Campus has recently been refurbished and offers classrooms with access to natural light as well as a comprehensive library. Kitchen areas and microwaves are provided for students who want to bring lunch from home.

EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND EXCURSIONS

Students can participate in regular excursions and extra curricular activities, such as sporting activities and fortnightly excursions visiting museums, parks, etc.

FLEXIBLE INTAKES

At Ozford we understand that there can be difficulties in organising and preparing for full time study. Ozford has termly intakes for most courses throughout the year.

EMPLOYMENT SUPPORT SERVICES

Students at Ozford are provided with support services to find employment that is related to the course they are studying.

LIBRARY/RESOURCE CENTRE

Ozford offers a library with a wide range of materials to suit students’ needs. Daily newspapers and a variety of magazines are also available in the library.

OZFORD ORIENTATION PROGRAM

The orientation program involves familiarisation with studying in the Melbourne CBD. On the first day of a course, newer students must attend a compulsory orientation program.

STUDENT SERVICES CENTRE

Student Services Officers are located at all campuses. Please feel free to ask at our front desks for any help or make general enquiries about directions, public transport and other day-to-day needs.  We are here to help students not only with their studies, but also with other aspects of studying at Ozford.

COMPUTER LABS

At Ozford we have computer labs available for classes and for students to use in their free time. We provide high speed Internet connection and all students are given a computer account, email address and free downloads of up to 60MB per month.

STUDENT COMMON AREAS

At Ozford there are several student common areas. In each, we provide access to microwaves and refrigerators. A study area is also available to students.

PATHWAY AND DIRECT ENTRY PROGRAMS

Ozford offers pathways and direct entry programs to many tertiary institutions in Australia, providing our students with more options when it comes to choosing their further study. STUDENT ALUMNI

Ozford students are welcome to return to Ozford at any time after the completion of their courses. We encourage students to let us know how they are going and also to contact us if they have any problems.

HAIRDRESSING SALON

Ozford’s hairdressing courses are offered at our own hair salon. Students can enjoy professional and practical training in a relaxed and fun environment.

The hair salon offers a wide variety of treatments that serve as valuable, real-world experience for the students, giving them an opportunity to develop confidence by putting their theoretical knowledge into practice. Ozford’s hair salon opens to the public and all are welcome to make appointments. The salon is staffed by students who serve public clients under the supervision of qualified trainers.

KITCHENS

Ozford has its own training kitchens close to central Melbourne. Our kitchens are all commercial kitchens. At our Ozford Junction cafe, students are able to benefit from on-the-job training. The cafe offers students a brand new kitchen to use their theory and practical skills in a “real life” situation. The café offers an outdoor courtyard and large indoor seated area. Students will be able to gain the skills and knowledge required to work in the areas of hospitality and retail operations.

AUTOMOTIVE WORKSHOP

The newly designed Ozford Automotive Training Centre is located centrally in Southbank. It provides state of the art training for today’s Automotive Technicians. To name a few features, the training centre
consists of a large modern automotive workshop with a comprehensive range of all the tools and equipment found in modern workshop facilities today.

Four different modern vehicles provide students with real life experience of vehicle maintenance and repair. There is a workshop which has been systematically sectioned into several main areas to encourage and help students learn the different areas of vehicle service and repair.

CORPORATE TRAINING

Ozford offers corporate group training which can be held at the workplace or on the college campus. Ozford courses are Centrelink approved courses. A waiver of the application fee is applicable if a student is registered with a Job Services Australia.

JOB AND CAREER CENTRE

Being an important part of our value-added services to students, Job and Career Centre at Ozford assists them in finding employment opportunities to gain practical experience. With regular vacancy updates and a wide range of student database, many suitable candidates have been referred to employers with high satisfaction.

GOVERNMENT FUNDED COURSES

The Victorian Training Guarantee is making vocational training more accessible to people who do not have a post-school qualification, or who want to gain a higher level qualification than they already hold. Ozford offers government subsidised places for eligible individuals. All courses at Ozford are nationally accredited courses that will improve your ability to enter the workforce, enhance your career or job prospects.

AUSTRALIAN APPRENTICESHIPS & TRAINEESHIPS

Working while studying has become every student’s objective. At Ozford, we help our students to make it happen. Australian Apprenticeships cover all apprenticeships and traineeships, providing a range of benefits to employers and jobseekers. They combine time at work with training and can be full-time, part-time, on job training or school-based. Ozford would act as the link between employers and apprentices by providing a pathway from school to work. We help employers find the appropriate apprentices and customise off-the-job training for them. 

WORKPLACE ASSESSMENT TRAINING SOLUTIONS

Workplace assessment is a formal system of assessing workers’ competency in their job role, against competency standards. Ozford offers employers a comprehensive package of assessments and training solutions that can enhance the performance of their staff.
